Feeling hopeless? Your brain might be lying to you! It might tell you things are awful, horrible, dreadful, and not normal. It may convince you that you can’t succeed or there’s no chance things can get better
But just because you think it, doesn’t mean it’s true. Your thoughts may be distorted, inaccurate, or downright wrong. Hopeless thoughts fuel hopeless feeling. And it’s easy to get caught up in a negative cycle that makes it hard to see that things can get better.
Be open to the idea that the way you’re thinking might not be accurate. Check the facts, decatastrophize, or ask a trusted friend how they perceive the situation. There may be more hope than you imagine.
If you are still feeling hopeless, we want to help. Call (989) 797-3400.
